My students study atoms, viruses as well as elements. All of these are so tiny that my students don't truly see them as real. My students can research a virus and using the engineering design model, design, create and finally print a 3D model of their virus. The virtual reality 3d headset will allow students to interact with atoms and molecules as though they themselves were that tiny and really see a new world open up. Both of these will also help my special needs students move from knowing the material to really gaining an understanding because it makes it real for them.
