Since I have seven preps, it is often hard to balance what I am trying to teach with broadcast media, especially when much of the recording is done on a phone. If I had three portable cameras in my classroom, the students would be more likely to produce quality work that could strengthen the learning in all disciplines. For example, my English students recently did a podcast discussing different lenses through which to examine “To Kill a Mockingbird” and I kept envisioning what they could’ve done with a camera. Teaching is one of the highest forms of learning, and if my students could teach one another through video recordings, everyone would benefit.
