The use of novels is the foundation for every English class. Without the text students struggle to interact with the story in a meaningful way. Nothing is worse for a teacher than not having enough copies of a novel for a student. As a teacher, you feel as if you are putting that child's education at a disadvantage solely based on the monetary status of the school they attend. This is a horrible concept that should not be present in our reality. Having a class set of the novels would help every student have an equitable chance of interacting with important texts. Their education would no be hindered as much by the socio-economic status of where they live, but by traits the student can aim to improve. Thank you for considering helping my students, they deserve more than I am able to provide for them.
