“We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It’s easy to say “It’s not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem. Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.” -- Fred Rogers This project will deliver much-needed food to students and families in need. It is as simple as that. We recognize that students’ lives are complex, and practicing personal responsibility and resiliency is easier said than done when they are home and hungry. That is why every single day during this school closure period, we need to give students the tools to overcome whatever obstacles get in the way of their own home-based remote education. For far too many, hunger is a real problem. Without daily breakfast and lunch provided free of cost to students, they are at risk. At our school, our role involves more than just teaching and learning.  It involves the security of students knowing there will be breakfast and lunch each day, the comfort of knowing that a friend or caring adult will always check in, and the hope of knowing they can make a future full of opportunity and happiness. As we all navigate this unique and challenging time, we want to reassure all our families that we are here to support and provide information regarding community-based resources that could contribute to their health and safety. Please remember that we are all in this together.
