As stated, developing sound comprehension skills is a dynamic, rather than static process, which fluctuates depending on factors such as text difficulty, topic of the text and the reading environment. Efficient, effective word-recognition skills will permit a reader to construct meaning in text, thereby aiding in comprehension skills. To facilitate optimal reading comprehension abilities, students must be immersed in reading a variety of texts, while engaged in high-interest tasks such as questioning, inferring, synthesizing and summarizing. The resources requested in this project will provide experiences, both rich and meaningful to readers of all performance levels.
