Within my classroom I promote collaboration with the use of math stations. Students work in small groups sharing ideas, use trial and error, and critique each others work. The tables will give students who need to write down their ideas an instant work space. This classroom model promotes a safe comfortable environment for students to show their thinking, collaborate, and reach a common goal. From the teachers perspective, I can provide instant feedback. Student work will be bigger and bolder providing easy assessment as I rotate around the classroom. Finally, students will be encouraged to take ownership of their learning. The whiteboard tables will add to the fun in math.
