Being a history teacher, I enjoy giving my students current event articles that explain what is happening in other parts of the world, so that they can see that the word is more complex than what they see around them. Furthermore, I am able to connect these current events to events that happened in the past and am able to draw correlations between the events that happened in the past to the events that are happening in the moment. By doing this, I am able to get students engaged in historical lessons and am able to get them to make references between the two time periods.
