During this time of panic and fear of the CoronaVirus I have been trying my best to reach out to my students and send them assignments. However, many of them do not have access to technology at home to continue their learning. These computers would allow them to complete assignments at home to keep them engaged in learning. Now that internet providers are offering free service to the youth, we are only missing one piece. The length of time we will be out of school is unknown, it could very well be until the end of the school year. That is THREE whole months of school they will be missing out on. I don't want these kids to fall behind because of this virus. I was hoping we could come together and give our kids a fighting chance. In Michigan, our educational ranking for K-12 public schools is 36th! We are already at a significant disadvantage. Let's ban together and give our kids the tools they need to succeed!
