BrainPOP is an excellent resource that engages students using a variety of mediums. Students are able to watch engaging videos, play games that enrich what they learned, and take leveled quizzes. I work in a multi grade level classroom with a variety of ability levels. My students have very individualized needs that require differentiation and scaffolding. BrainPOP is a resource that ALL of my students can utilize. It is engaging and tied to common core standards. BrainPOP can be used as a whole group, in small group, or individually. Students can use BrainPOP during independent work times to sharpen skills or reinforce a lesson or topic. The whole class can explore a topic together, or grade levels can delve into topics that support their grade level learning standards. BrainPOP can create independent, higher order thinkers. It promotes having a Growth Mindset. I am a social communication teacher. SEL(social emotional learning) is my passion. BrainPOP provides a variety of social emotional lessons that meet a variety of needs for a variety of age levels. It allows me to differentiate my SEL lessons by grade level or academic level. It supports my SEL curriculum in an engaging and meaningful way. I thank you for considering this project and supporting my non traditional learners!
