This project will allow my students to be comfortable in the classroom each day and able to focus on their learning. As our students are changing to be Digital and 21st Century Learners, our classrooms need to change too. The traditional sitting in a desk to complete their work is becoming obsolete as times change. This is true for both adults and students. These resources, including couches and wobble stools will allow my students to choose where they work, be comfortable, and help them both collaborate effectively and focus. These new alternative seating options will provide my students that have trouble staying in their seat or focusing, an alternative option for seating where they are able to safely keep moving while they work. These resources are being used to redesign classrooms throughout the US and the impact is HUGE! I would love to make this same impact in my classroom. As adults when we go to do work at Starbucks, we have a choice where we want to sit based on what works best for us. Some choose the comfy chairs/booths while other choose the high top stools/tables. Our students should have that same choice in the classroom and this project will help me do just that.
