Allowing my students to access flexible seating such as beanbags, floor seats, and pillows in my classroom will help their overall learning. It gives them choice on how and where to sit during class. It also allows them to move their bodies to stay alert and focused rather than having to sit stiffly at a desk the entire class period. Flexible seating helps to create small groups more easily where students can maintain social distancing by using all the floor space of my classroom. We will also utilize flexible seating during other activities such as silent reading and individual work.
