I want to add hands-on learning activities to my literacy block. I want to be able to give my kids another way to learn through play, socializing and using different materials for a real hands-on learning experience. I want my classroom to be a place where learning happens in many different ways. The sensory table will allow for students to use water, sand, water beads, sensory noodles and other sensory materials to enhance their play which will then enhance their learning. The phonics sentence kit and also the literacy kit will allow students to learn how to read CVC words, blend words and also learn their vowel sounds using a hands-on approach.The feel and find sensory tubs will allow for students to have a hands-on experience while finding letters (to make words), numbers and shapes. This is a very busy bunch and doing paper/pencil work all day is really tough for them. Having these hands-on activities will give students the options to move around while engaging in learning.
