The classroom I am in has a limited number of chapter books available and with no librarian, the students need access to quality books. This project will allow students to just that. The books selected are award winning, classics, and/or multicultural. The school has a high demographic of students of color, so it is important that the characters in books are inclusive of all races and celebrate them. Other books chosen will help children to understand and learn about children with different abilities and learning disabilities in fictional stories. These books will create great discussions and help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally to become great members of the world.
