We just adopted a new reading program and it is absolutely AMAZING! This program is allowing my students to interact with higher level text, interact with each other, and learn valuable speaking and writing skills. This curriculum allows them to look for connections through art, poetry and both fiction and non-fiction text. There is only one little problem, we don't have enough books for all of the students. These children need to get books in their hands in order for it to truly impact their learning!! Sadly, with all the budget cuts in education and in our county in general, there are just not enough funds to furnish these books. I have already spent a substantial of money out of my own pocket in order to have a fraction of what is needed. Please consider funding my project so my students can immerse themselves in reading.
