Lab work is an integral piece of a high school science class that I've tried to maintain during this pandemic. This scale will provide students completing lab measurements a second option by providing another scale to do measurements on. Currently, students are using one electronic balance to complete their mass measurements and as a result progress bottlenecks because there aren't enough. This creates a line at the scale where students don't always distance effectively and their progress slows to the point where it is sometimes difficult to finish their assignments during class time. With Covid cases increasing among younger people in Maine, the need to socially distance is increasingly important. With the help of this scale, productivity will increase and my students will be safer. This scale will prepare students for future science classes in high school as well as beyond.
