We have a rock band program at our elementary school that we started 5 years ago. We have had many students go through our program and go on to play in middle school and high school. None of our students had ever played a musical instrument before joining the rock band program, but they were able to learn and participate in shows. The drum set we are using is one that I put together from different drum sets my own kids played on when they were small about 15 years ago. The cymbal is broken, and we use a chair to hold the snare drum. The set is not complete and is in very bad shape. We have been using it for 5 years, but the kids keep playing it and learning on it. We are in need of other things, but getting a new drum set would really help our program. The drum set would not only be used for the rock band program, but it would also be used in the music classroom for kids to play on and learn.
