I've requested grade level math manipulatives to support student learning in the classroom. Allowing students, who are below grade level, to have hands-on opportunities with high quality instructional materials in the classroom will help to close the learning gap created by COVID. I have also requested extra manipulatives so early finishers have a quiet activity to keep them engaged while continuing to support their learning allowing me to closely work with students that need additional support. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. We have leveled learning at our school and move to a smaller less equipped break out room for math groups. A projector is not available in our breakout room, therefore, I use my computer to present the math slides our curriculum requires. I try to hold the computer high and steady enough for all students to see while presenting the lesson but this usually ends up being something of a balancing act. Having a podium will allow the students to view the material more easily. The students will be able to simply focus on the material and not worry about being able to see it. Having a wireless presenter remote will allow me to click through the slides from anywhere in the room. This will not only improve the students focus and participation in class, it will allow me to manage the class more easily. The posters will brighten up our classroom while relaying a positive message and promoting a growth mindset in all my students. The incentives requested will allow me to recognize and reward my students hard work and personal achievements in a fun way.
