Having some new reading series that are fun and adventurous will help grab my students attentions and engage them into new worlds and encourage them to read. The books would be used to plan lessons and activities that are not only about reading, but hands on activities to create and environment that makes reading fun and memorable. My students loved when we read Restart and didn't want to stop reading. I hope to encourage that type of reading and excitement with two new Korman books. I would like to also pull in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz as many of the students have seen the movie (not all). I would love to show them the story beyond the movie and encourage them to take a different type of adventure through reading this favorite story.
