These Spanish language copies of popular books will be placed in our library collection and available for all students, Kindergarten through 5th grade, in our school. Our school serves over 80 English Language Learners, the majority of whom speak primarily Spanish at home. I would like these students to be able to choose books from our library collection that their peers are choosing. The library is the center of literacy in our school and these books will help our English Language Learners feel included in our community. Our current library collection contains mostly outdated books in Spanish. Updating this section of our library will allow these students access to the same books their friends are reading while providing opportunities for them to practice reading in their native language.
