As with many students, my students are driven by extrinsic motivation. They work hard for the 2-3 pieces of candy that they receive after small group time is finished. Having these as an incentive will help their learning and focus as they desire to get this little treat at the completion of the lesson. Phonemic awareness is a primary skill in kindergarten and the wireless mouse and keyboard will make it so much easier to teach. Being on the rug with the students is essential for our reading time and without the wireless items, it is a challenge to access the online resources and stories that tie to our curriculum. This will make it easier for me and more efficient for the students.
