Reading daily is expected at our campus, and by reading, students will be successful. Getting new books in the hands of our students is my mission. Updating our collection of books in our library is crucial. Having a collection of books that is more than 15 years old is not appealing to our students. We would love to keep that love of reading alive for our students. I would love for every student to walk out of the library with a book that they like in their hand with a big smile. We do not want to turn anyone away when the students ask or say, "Mrs. you do not have any good books in the library, Mrs. do you have comic books?, Mrs. did you get any new books this year?, Mrs. the more I come to the library the less interesting books I find, etc." Yes we have some digital books available, but we have many students who want to be able to hold that book, hug it and smell it. Our students have a passion for reading. They are hungry for books. Providing students with books of their interest will help them tremendously in all content areas and they will become successful.
