I currently only have 2 mallet instruments in class. It makes it difficult to share these in 40 minutes. I am hoping by adding another xylophone, I am able to allow more opportunities for students to play during games and to also teach them how to read music using a tactile instrument. Students do a lot better retaining information when they are able to physically touch, hear, and see what I am talking about. I think this will benefit their retention and recognition so much more than hearing about it.
