Our K-8 literacy tutoring program is hosting a superhero themed Family Literacy Night! This event is the culminating activity of our tutoring program and ties to our curriculum theme of "Heroes and Legends." Our Family Literacy Night will celebrate scholars' literacy accomplishments and engage families in literacy activities that will promote life-long readers. This event is expected to be attended by 25 scholars and their parents and guardians. We will award scholars with a personalized certificate and goodie bags filled with literacy prizes for their hard work and achievements. We will also award prizes for the literacy games that scholars and their parents will participate in during the event. Prizes include literacy-related party games and two Kindle readers. This event will motivate scholars to work hard during the program by giving them something to look forward to. Parents will also gain valuable information and resources during the event to continue building their children's literacy abilities at home.
