Buying books for the curriculum can be expensive, especially when those books are handled by hundreds of students. Therefore, I would greatly appreciate any contribution. These books both focus on identity, which is an important concept to many middle schoolers. By reading relevant books, students are more likely to engage in what they are learning, but they are also more likely to discuss facts in their life that mirror what we see through different characters' eyes. It's more important now, more than ever, to open the doors of communication and allow students to talk about topics that are of interest to them.
