My enthusiastic middle-school Spanish students are reading their first Spanish-language novel this week. It is a beginner-level book called "El capibara con botas" and is an engaging tale about animals from the Amazon Rain Forest. Students will improve their Spanish, learn about the ecology of South America and the importance of taking care of our environment in general, and be entertained in the process! I would love to have a second Spanish-language novel ready for my students when they are finished with the first one. There is a second novel called "La perezosa impaciente" and it would be the perfect book for them to read after "El capibara con botas." "La perezosa impaciente" also takes place in South America and continues teaching about science and ecology using funny animal characters. Please consider donating a classroom set of "La perezosa impaciente" to help my students keep up with their Spanish language acquisition. Future Spanish class students would enjoy the novels as well. We would all be incredibly grateful!
