I teach at a low economic school. Technology is advancing at a fast rate and I would love to give my students the opportunity to advance their knowledge through technology. Technology is the future and a lot of schools don't have updated technology. My school is limited to the amount of technology we have and our new adopted math program has a technology component that helps our low economic students that are struggling with major deficits in ELA and math. It puts them on a learning path they is just right for them. I have seen tremendous growth with this system and my students love getting on them. This program also has learning games that the students adore. The students can play games and lean while doing it. The brightness in their smile is reassurance that they are learning and gaining self confidence in themselves. Most of our students we have lack self confidence and it is devastating as a teacher to see them like this. I try everyday to motivate and push my students to the best of their ability. My goal as an educator is to push my students beyond their limits. In addition, I would love for my students to conduct research projects. Research projects really engages students and gets them excited about learning. The passion that you see in their face is confirmation that they are dedicated to their assignment. Conducting research projects is also a rigorous assignment that challenges students thinking. The students have to come up with their own research and prepare an essay, project, etc. to present to the class. This is great motivation for students because all of my students love to teach their classmates new things.
