How do you empower a first grader? How do you convince them that just because they are 'little' in the eyes of others that they can still take ownership of their learning? You give them the right tools with a little bit of free agency on the side. By giving my kids Kindle Fires to use in conjunction with an evidence based literacy app, they will be able to take control of their learning during Reading Centers. While they will be able to do the required activities at their own pace and level of learning, I will be able to track their progress and will be even more equipped to provide one on one help where students need it most. Sometimes, little fingers can also be a little clumsy, I'm also asking for kids proof cases to put the kindles in. This will protect your investment and mine.
