Flexible seating will allow students to choose the best learning environment based on his/her learning style. During independent work times, they will be able to choose a location in the classroom that works best for them. Implementing flexible seating will improve students' learning as they are able to focus more. Behavior problems decrease and engagement increases when I use flexible seating in the classroom. Some students need to be standing/moving as they learn while others would benefit from sitting in a structured seat. Flexible seating opens up the classroom allowing me more space to walk around safely and gives the students more work space.
