I would like to give students the opportunity to plant and grow their own vegetables. Students will plant seeds in the classroom and watch them grow into seedlings. The root viewers will help them understand the science behind how plants grow underground. Students will then transplant their plants them into the raised be garden. Also, students will take home a seedling to plant at home. It is my desire to have students develop a love of gardening through these experiences. Students will plant Marigolds, sunflowers, carrots, tomatoes and cucumbers. They will also learn how to take care of the garden by regularly watering and weeding.
