This project is so important to me. I was a 5th/6th grade general education teacher for several years. Recently, I have made a change and now teach 6th grade special education. My classroom library is very limited as far as books that are on the reading level for my students. I have accumulated some books from teachers that taught younger grades and my students have been so excited to read them. Reading books that are on their level has given my students a sense of confidence. This new found confidence has not only been shown in the resource room but has also carried over into their general education classroom. With these new books, you are helping inspire my students become life long readers!
