These books will inspire and motivate my students to read captivating stories about scientific ideas and facts. They will also enhance the print-rich classroom that I continue to create in science. My students love to read and this Max Axiom series will not only engage them in reading interesting and factual scientific information, they will also appeal to all levels of readers! At the moment, I only have approximately enough of each title for half of the class to read at one time, thus making it challenging to have all students learn the same background information at the same time. I have chosen this Max Axiom series because I see the enjoyment and learning that takes place while the students are reading the few copies I have of each book. With the addition of these new books, my students will be able to read independently instead of two or sometimes three students reading from the same book. These books are of great interest to my students as they are about science and are written as comics, which are engaging as well as great hooks for scientific reading! Interest in reading in my science classroom will not only encourage students in science but will also promote enthusiasm for reading in other curricular areas.
