These materials will greatly impact the student’s ability to read, practice math, use our science curriculum, and use our district programs. Students will be able to more research based science using the computer. This will also improve their literacy skills in order to do more advanced science and comprehend it. Our district provides many programs and resources to help the students improve their reading, writing, and math using technology. This will also help the students in the future because the world is becoming progressively online and the ability use the computer is necessary for most any type of career. These students would make huge growths with this type of access to technology. The programs that we use are Lexia for ELA, Splash Math for Math, STEM Scopes for Science and Studies weekly for Social Studies. These programs are great when all students have access. With more computers it will give more time for students to be able to use these programs for every subject that is taught. The possibilities are endless! Additionally, students will be more familiar with the computer when it comes time to move upper elementary where computer use is more frequent in class and for high stakes state-testing. These 21st century skills are necessary for our students in the future.
