How many times have you heard a child groan and complain when they are told to read a book? In their mind, they are being needlessly punished. BUT, reading isn't punishment. It can be fun and silly. It can involve superheroes with underwear over their pants or tell a tale about a wimpy kid in middle school. Giving students fun and engaging books will encourage them to read.I want to give them a classroom library that they will want to check out. Being in special education, students often view reading as something negative. I want to change that. Reading can be fun!
