The Scholastic magazines and books will help me instruct students by teaching main ideas and the use of text features. They will also help my students with writing using text evidence from the magazine articles. The instruction will help increase both comprehension and writing skills. Students will gain knowledge and skills and become more literate. Students that are more skilled in literacy will comprehend better, thus becoming more successful both in school and in life. The magazines and books will help student connect literature to real world events and the students' individual interests by allowing them to read articles they are interested in. This will help them become more motivated to read various genres and encourage them to learn about events happening around the world.

About my class
