Students in my class primarily create 2D artworks (various mediums on paper) as funding is tight. Paper and common mediums, such as pencils, colored pencils, and charcoal are easy to purchase with limited funds; however, less common materials and equipment are more difficult to fit into my budget. They long for opportunities to create 3D artworks and are especially interested in working with clay. I recently purchased a kiln from a grant I was awarded; however, students really want to learn how to throw on a pottery wheel. This project would allow them the opportunity. Thank you!
