Even though we are in a rural community many of our students never experience the process of animal development. This project will provide a hands-on opportunity for students to learn many different aspects of science including the life-cycle of chickens or ducks, the development of fertilized eggs into chicks, and why some animals lay eggs and others give birth to live babies instead. Hands-on experiences are often the most remembered and engaging for students. Their chance to bring "life" to chickens is often a favorite part of the year. Please help me provide this great opportunity to eager fifth graders.
