I am in need of growing my classroom library to ensure that my students have a range of texts to build their own book clubs. Book clubs are a means of promoting a lifelong passion for reading through social and student-led discussion. As children grow, it is statistically shown that their love for learning diminishes; however, book clubs are a simple way to ensure that this does not happen! My dream is to have a range of books that will spark the interest of my range of students. I would love to have a gamete of genres, themes, and identities reflected in my book club options.
