I have a great program for beginning reading that teaches CVC words, word families and sight words. I am wanting to build a library that has the next Lexile level of readers so that the students can whisper read in small group. I will be able to monitor and assist when needed. This is the beginning of teaching independent reading and this is when the students begin to become more fluent. The selections I have made would be a good start to meet my goal of having an in class library. Our school library has very little to offer at this lower level of reading and that is why this donation to my students would be so very beneficial in promoting literacy.
