Sensory items allow my students to satisfy their sensory needs. By having sensory items like weighted lap pads, sensory bands, and toys, my students can get the sensory input they need to fully attend to their instruction. With 12 students in my classroom at a wide level of needs we are rarely able to do large group instruction. Instead, I ability group students based on their academic levels. The dry erase easel is more accessible when teaching a small group lesson. The addition table within the classroom will allow for my paraprofessionals in the classroom run additional educational centers maximizing instructional time. Visual timers give my students a visual concept of how long they need to be working on a task or help students who are already able to work independently, strengthen their executive functioning skills by learning time management. The bookshelves and mailbox will allow to display educational materials in an orderly fashion and help students learn essential organizational skills.
