These materials will help me create a theraputic garden and space for my students with special needs. Creating and maintaining vegetable gardens can be therapeutic and is embraced as a tool to help children with special needs develop skills needed to deal with emotions. Having the garden will allow my students a place to cool down, to refocus, and to use calming strategies to help them cope with emotional situations. Being able to plant, water, and watch the plants grow will give my students a sense of pride and accomplishment. They will also learn how to live a life healthy.
