Trying to use phones and personal devices to research artists and techniques can be a nightmare. WiFi won't connect, the screens are tiny, there are data concerns, social media presents a distraction...the list of pitfalls goes on and on. Giving my kids a way to research and record their work is imperative. Time spent jockeying over the one ancient laptop in my room is time wasted not making art. It is heartbreaking to watch students reign in their ambition because of a lack of resources. These Chromebooks will help me differentiate instruction and encourage independent study so that my students can not only meet project requirements, but also find their individual voice and style.
