Students learn best with they are able to move. I often find that students are rocking their chairs back and forth and I always have to stop them because traditional chairs are dangerous when they are leaned back. This puts me in the position where I have to stifle movement for their own safety. Wobble chairs are a safe way that students can sit in a chair and wiggle around! They are built for students to move on them. This means that less of their focus will be on keeping the precarious balance of their chair so they don't fall, and more attention on what they are learning. It also is much safer and doesn't provide the same opportunity for students to fall and hurt themselves. My students often complain about how uncomfortable their chairs are and I try to provide as much opportunity as I can for them to move around, but it is inevitable that they will have to spend some time in their desks. I want this time to be as learning-focused and comfortable as it can be so that my students become the best readers and writers that they can be!
