My students want to keep coming to the library and in these uncertain times we have to do what we can to accommodate them. I have created a self-service island for them to check out their own books, with a computer, barcode scanner, book marks, date due stamp, and of course hand sanitizer. A receipt printer would be one step closer to fewer surfaces being touched by allowing the students to take their receipt with no need to stamp their book. It could also work as a bookmark. I want to keep them coming to my library as long as possible by anticipating issues such as high touch areas.
