Students will be using the cookbooks to prepare dishes using the utensils, electric skillet and griddle to increase independent living and life skills. Students will be able to browse a variety of books to research recipes to prepare delicious dishes. This project will also increase the students' awareness of the Dewey Decimal System (Cookbooks in the 600s category). As a librarian, it is my goal to find ways to reach all students and make learning fun and relevant. All of my students are important and want the best educational opportunities for them and the best real-life experiences in the classroom, as well as, the Library Media Center. They WANT these experiences, and I would like to continue to provide the necessary equipment to perform these projects and enhance their learning experience.
