A graphics tablet would increase my student's capabilities as journalists in a multimedia world. This tablet gives them the ability to work on computer-drawn illustrations for our various publications, hand-drawn graphics for our broadcast tv show, editorial cartoons for our student newspaper, info-graphics for our student newspaper and yearbooks, and capabilities for photo-editing software to create photo-illustrations. All of these functions would increase our students' breadth of knowledge in the art and design aspects of multimedia journalism and would allow them to enter even more competitions with categories in these areas. Having a tablet gives students the opportunity to check out or rent the tablet to work on their projects from home when class time is not enough. We can also take the tablet with us when we travel for competitions.
