As a math and science teacher for upper elementary students, it can be difficult to review skills that "they should already know", like basic math facts. My students still need to master these skills to be successful in middle school. Providing games and manipulatives will solidify their learning while providing a fun and different way to learn. Providing students with answer boards will also allow students to show their thinking in a variety of ways, provide opportunities for students to share their learning, and teach others. Students love to read science books, this provides them with the much needed use of vocabulary and build their reading fluency.
