Each year we conduct a research project and write papers to be published in a class book. Our class has chosen to do animal research. Each student will receive a National Geographic Kids Reader to help them learn about their animal. These readers will be the main source of research for our writing project. Every student will be able to choose an animal to conduct research on, using a book on their level from our National Geographic animal library. When students have completed their research papers, they will illustrate their animal and both the writing piece and illustration of every student will be published in a hard cover book! This is an exciting way for students to become passionate researchers and writers!
