The professional development texts selected on Reading and Writing will be used by myself and colleagues to facilitate professional development that engages our teachers to explore new strategies for teaching and reading and writing. The reading and writing book collection will be used throughout the year as a reference bank for school-level and grade-level professional developments. The materials will also be used as an additional resource to assist brand new teachers or teachers who are have only taught five or fewer years as well as veteran teachers who need to refresh their instructional strategies. This project will benefit all stakeholders involved including administration, teachers, students, families, and the community.
