Using this wide variety of books, my students will be able to explore their love of reading through the many genres and levels that were selected. The book series bundles will keep the excitement going for students who get hooked. The graphic novels will reach reluctant readers, as will the novels by Paulsen, Sachar, and Korman, which are relatable and flow at a comfortable pace. Biographies that are captivating will allow students to engage in non-fiction reading that will inspire them and enhance their reading skills. Our Dystopian unit, that wraps up the year, will be able to feature classics, as well as some new and up-and-coming worlds that the students can dive into headfirst. This is an incredible opportunity, not only to get all of my readers into books that they enjoy, but to allow them a space that provides continued engagement as they make their way through the shelves. My unique readers who are stuck in their ways with genres and comfortable reading levels will be given the opportunity to challenge themselves with complex texts, as well as explore worlds and experiences that they have not stepped into before. By providing a variety of themes and plot lines that encircle the novel, I am placing in their hands these works of literature that allow them to grow as they learn. I think that this is important for students who are developing young minds. It is my job to educate and inspire. It is also my job to give them the tools to create their own lives and to empathize with others' lives. I believe that I can do that by providing them with as many books as possible, starting with this gargantuan list here!
