If my project is fully funded I will be purchasing copies of the novels "The Golden Horseshoe" by Frances Gunter to expand my students learning of the state of West Virginia during their 8th grade social studies class. This novel is proven to increase our students test scores while improving their knowledge of the state. The novels will cover all of our state standards for 8th grade social studies. Students will use the novels to improve their reading ability and increase their knowledge about the state. Students in Keyser Middle are motivated to learn and are engaged in the classroom through various methods of instruction including novel studies.
